Frequently, the dealer makes more in the finance office than they do selling the car.  Dealerships refer to financing revenue as "back end profit".  This is revenue dealers generate by marking up your interest rate and selling warranties, sealants and alarms.  Dealers can mark up your rate by as much as 2.5%.  Depending on how much you are financing, that can translate into thousands of dollars in additional interest over the life of the loan.  At Black Dog we know the "buy rates" of the banks that dealers use and we will help ensure that you get the lowest rate that you qualify for. 

Often the best finance and lease programs come from the automobile manufacturers.  These are called sup-vented rates because the manufacturer buys down the rate to help generate sales.  Black Dog will make sure these rates are made available to you. 

When you purchase a car through Black Dog you will have all the numbers up front, before you sign any paperwork.  This means you will have time to make an informed decision and carefully consider all your options.  You won't feel pressured into buying something you don't understand or need.  We eliminate the regret and uncertainty often associated with purchasing a car. 

Leasing Benefits

What about leasing? For some people leasing is a good option.  Consider leasing if you use your car for business, desire a new car every 2 to 3 years or want a lower monthly payment.  An important consideration is the amount of mileage you put on your car because there can be mileage penalties. Leasing is more complex than traditional financing.  Instead of an interest rate you have what is known as a "money factor" and it's not disclosed on the contract.  You also have a "residual value".  This is the amount you can purchase the car for at the end of your lease term.  Black dog can help you make sense of all this.

A Word on Warranties


If you are interested in an extended warranty we recommend the manufacturers extended warranties for three reasons.  They usually are the most affordable, comprehensive, and easiest to administer.  However, we don’t believe you should pay two, three, even four times the dealers cost for them.  If you are interested in an extended warranty just let us know.  We will give you several options at the lowest price possible.  Black Dog also recommends Lojack.  We can install Lojack and offer it at much less than dealers typically charge.  Just let us know.
